Trumpet player Tatiana Giesler is a classically trained and multifaceted performer who has performed with ensembles such as the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Colburn Orchestra, American Youth Symphony, Debut Chamber Orchestra, Santa Monica Symphony, Orchestra Next, Black House Collective, and Taneycomo Festival Orchestra. She had the honor of sharing a stage with well-renowned musicians such as Thomas Hooten, Malcolm McNab, Eric Marienthal, Rebecca Wilt, and Jack Black. Tatiana has traveled and performed extensively throughout the continental United States, playing in states such as California, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, Michigan, Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia.
Tatiana has recorded at East West Studios and Corchea Recording Studio and has performed at well-renowned halls including the Kennedy Center, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
In addition to her performing, Tatiana has accrued a diverse teaching career. She has taught for a decade in many different formats including private lessons, trumpet sectionals, brass ensembles, brass quintets, and others. Tatiana completed her Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Trumpet Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach where she served as the Brass Department Graduate Assistant. She led rehearsals and sectionals for various groups there in addition to serving as a brass instructor and sectional coach for the Pacific Symphony Youth Concert Band and local schools in Orange County and Los Angeles County. In the summer of 2023, she assisted with the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra tour to Prague and Vienna.
After relocating to the Maryland/DC area for her graduate studies, she served as one of the trumpet instructors at the UMD Terrapin Community Music School, which strives to provide high quality instruction for low costs. Tatiana currently works at the International School of Music as a Trumpet/Brass Instructor, performs as a member of the Potomac Brass Quintet, and serves on the faculty of the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
Tatiana is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Maryland, studying under Professor Chris Gekker. During her time at CSULB, she studied under David Washburn (principal trumpet of Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra), Ryan Darke (principal trumpet of Los Angeles Opera), Robert Frear (founding member of Hollywood Bowl Orchestra), and David Evans.
